Varese, Lombardia, Italia: Registri di Morte, 1866-1937 (Varese Death Registrations)

Il progetto delle Morti di Varese è una raccolta straordinaria di documenti che contiene importanti informazioni genealogiche. Vi si trovano informazioni non solo sul decesso, ma anche sulla nascita, i genitori e l'occupazione. Il grado di difficoltà è molto elevato poiché i documenti sono in italiano e, talvolta potrebbe essere difficile individuare le informazioni pertinenti nel corpo dei documenti e leggere la calligrafia. Dal 1866 al 1874 gli atti di morte erano costituiti da moduli liberi scritti a mano. A partire dal 1875 vennero introdotti dei moduli prestampati per i documenti, agevolando il reperimento delle informazioni. In tutti gli atti, il nome della persona defunta e il numero di atto appaiano sul margine all'inizio dell'atto di morte, mentre l'anno si trova nella prima riga di ciascun atto.

Ciascun atto di morte riporta i nomi e il numero di atto sul margine all'inizio dell'atto. Alcuni documenti che non si basano su moduli prestampati, vale a dire sono costituiti semplicemente da paragrafi scritti a mano, potrebbero continuare nell'immagine successiva. È necessario controllarlo ogni volta che è possibile. Una chiara indicazione di un atto di morte che continua da un'immagine precedente è l'assenza di nomi o del numero di atto scritti sul margine dell'atto di morte di continuazione e che il primo atto di morte dell'immagine potrebbe iniziare nel mezzo o in un altro punto della pagina.

The Varese Deaths project is an amazing collection of records containing important genealogical information. Not only is there death information, there is also birth information, parental information, and occupation. The difficulty level is very advanced as the records are in Italian and, at times, may require extra effort to find the appropriate information in the body of a record and to read the handwriting. From 1866 to 1874 death records were free-form handwritten. From 1875 forward the preprinted templates were introduced making the information easier to locate. On all records the name of the deceased and the record number appears in the margin at the beginning of the death record while the death record date will be in the first line of each record.

Each death record has the names and record number in the margin at the beginning of the record. It is possible that for some records, which are not form based, or in other words are simply written out in paragraph form, that they may extend onto the next image. Whenever possible this should be checked for. A good indication of a death record being carried over from a previous image is that there is no name or record number written in the margin of the continued death record and the first death record for the image may begin in the middle of the page or elsewhere.
